Howden Latin America announces the creation of its Aviation Department
Howden Insurance Brokers announces the addition of Alvaro Pavone to its team responsible for Aviation for Latin America. A mathematician and Uruguayan national, he has developed his professional career primarily in Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile. Besides contributing his valuable regional perspective to the Howden Latin America team, Alvaro brings over 14 years of experience in the area of aviation reinsurance.
Alvaro believes that there is great potential in the region to develop the field of aviation reinsurance, taking into account that the market is in a phase of expansion, with the creation of new airlines as well as mergers between major carriers. The growth trend of fleets and the number of passengers in recent years is maintained, as is the acquisition of new equipment by the carriers upgrading their fleets, making them safer and more efficient. Also strong growth is observed in corporate jets and aero-applicators among others.
Our idea is to offer the client comprehensive advice, analyzing case-by-case, the most suitable coverages for his/her needs, from small aircraft for private use to jetliners, as well as assistance with potential losses by facilitating the settlement of claims and recovery in the shortest possible time.
The markets we usually work with in-and-outside of Lloyd´s, offer all conventional coverages such as hull, liability and personal accident, coverage for liability and airport operations all risk, premises liability, products and hangar liability and other not so conventional lines such as loss of license of pilots and hull coverage for military and/or police aircraft.
With the incorporation of the Windsor team in London at the end of 2012, Howden has become one of the leading independent international brokers in aviation and through this initiative, says Jose H. Astorqui, Managing Director of Howden Latin America, we are able to coordinate the access in the region to the international aviation markets with a local service of quality, immediately and in Spanish, completing at the same time, the range of professional reinsurance services we offer.
